May He Dance in the
Streets of Heaven

By Von Eric T. (2023)

One of eight siblings, Von Eric grew up in an environment where drug use was part of everyday life. Though his mother used drugs, he loved her unconditionally and was devastated when she died during an asthma attack.

Though rooted primarily in New Orleans, he found himself often readjusting to new surroundings, moving to Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego, Chicago, Kentucky, Indianapolis and Grand Rapids Michigan.

Though Seeds of Faith were implanted in his mind during  attendance at several churches, they lay fallow for decades, until finally taking root and growing when he was in his mid-forties behind prison bars in Michigan. There he began writing his “memoir” — the heroes of which were teachers who had instilled within him a love for painting word pictures. And a fascination for art, and reading, and for using the dictionary.
